Metal silicon powder is a fine powder made of metallic silicon, usually gray or black. The metal silicon is cleaned, selected and ground to make fine powder of 20 mesh to 600 mesh. According to the content, metal silicon powder can be divided into 90% metal silicon powder and 95%, 97%, 98%, 99.99% and other quality standards.
In the production process of refractory materials, metal silicon powder of different specifications can be selected according to the requirements of refractory materials, thereby greatly reducing the cost of refractory materials.
- General grade metal silicon powder (such as 553, 441 grades): The silicon content is usually between 98.5% and 99.0%, and the impurity content of iron, aluminum, calcium, etc. is controlled within a specific range. Suitable for steelmaking, casting and general aluminum alloy production, as a deoxidizer, alloying agent and inoculant to improve material strength, hardness and corrosion resistance.
- High-purity metal silicon powder (such as 3303, 2202, 1101 grades): The silicon content can reach more than 99.0%, and the impurity content of iron, aluminum, calcium and other impurities is significantly reduced (for example, the maximum impurity content of iron, aluminum and calcium in 2202 grade is 0.2%, 0.2% and 0.02% respectively). These grades are the key to the production of high-quality aluminum ingots, refining processes, advanced chemicals and solar-grade silicon.
