Silicon Carbide brittle and sharp has electrical and heat conductivity in some degree.The abrasives made of it are suitable for working on cast iron,non-ferrous metal,rock, leather,rubber,etc.It is also broadly used as refractory material and metallurgical additive.

Silicon carbide contains two common basic varieties: black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide. Black silicon carbide contains sic about 95%, so the toughness is higher than green silicon carbide.Low-grade silicon carbide (containing about 85% SiC) is an excellent deoxidizer.

Silicon carbide is a non-metallic and non-mineral product produced from quartz sand (SiO2) and anthracite or petroleum coke (C) as basic raw materials at high temperatures above 1800 degrees Celsius. Due to different production raw materials, black and green silicon carbides are formed.

Silicon carbide products have the characteristics of high hardness, small expansion coefficient, brittleness, good thermal conductivity, etc.
Widely used in abrasives, grinding of electronic products, refractory materials, special ceramics, coating and plastic modification, making grinding wheels, cutting discs, auto parts, military aviation, etc.
