Introduction to Metal chromium
Metallic chromium is a hard, silvery-white metal with extremely high corrosion resistance. It is primarily composed of chromium with a purity of over 99%, along with other elements such as C, S, P, and N. Generally, the total impurity content does not exceed 1%.

Ladle Refining/Induction Furnace: Stable feeding and uniform melting of 10–50 mm and 20–80 mm chromium blocks.
Precise Proportioning/Small Furnace: Fast response and high efficiency with 1–5 mm and 3–10 mm chromium granules.
Powder Metallurgy/Coating: Custom powder grades; window selection recommended based on specific surface area, oxygen content, and flowability.
- General Stainless Steel: Cr ≥ 99.0%–99.3%, low S and P are sufficient.
- High Temperature and Vacuum: Cr ≥ 99.5%, while controlling N, O, and C to even lower levels.
- Electroplating and Electronics: High-purity, low-volatile impurity materials are recommended, along with inert encapsulation.

Metallic chromium is mainly used as an alloying element in austenitic/ferritic/martensitic stainless steels to improve corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance.
In AOD/VOD processes, using low-sulfur, low-phosphorus chromium granules can optimize decarburization and refining efficiency.
Alloy steel and special steel：
Nickel-based and Cobalt-based Superalloys: The addition of metallic chromium is used in the manufacture of gas turbines, chemical plants, and aerospace applications to improve the corrosion and heat resistance of parts.
