Slide plate nozzle and hydraulic slide plate system
Refractory slides, also known as slide bricks, are a kind of refractory material used in a variety of smelting furnaces, tundishes, ladles, converters, etc.
Under the action of the hydraulic slide system, the refractory slide nozzle can achieve precise adjustment of the flow rate of molten steel, or cut off/open the flow of molten steel through the relative sliding of the upper and lower slides. The high-temperature resistant slide system ensures the stable transmission of molten steel at high temperatures (usually over 1600°C) to prevent leakage and reoxidation.
Refractory slide plate
High-performance slide plate provided by Zhen An Metallurgy is mainly used at the bottom of containers such as ladles and tundishes. In the continuous casting process, it works with the water inlet to achieve precise adjustment of high-temperature molten metal (such as molten steel).

Hydraulic slide gate system
Install a hydraulic slide gate system for your smelting furnace to dynamically adjust the flow of molten steel, match the needs of continuous casting of multiple furnaces, and reduce surface quality defects of ingots, especially for manufacturing special steel grades.
Made of high-performance refractory materials (such as Al₂O₃-ZrO₂-C composite materials), the surface is precisely processed to ensure sealing.

Application of Hydraulic Slide System
Through the deep integration of materials, machinery and intelligent technology, the refractory hydraulic slide system has become the core equipment for high-temperature metal liquid flow control in the modern metallurgical industry. Ladle → Tundish:
Function: The slide is installed at the bottom of the ladle. By adjusting the water inlet opening, the flow rate of molten steel into the tundish is controlled to keep the tundish liquid level stable (within the fluctuation range of ±5mm).
Tundish → Crystallizer：
In some continuous casting machines, the slide replaces the traditional stopper to directly control the flow rate of molten steel from the tundish to the crystallizer, which is especially suitable for high-speed (>2m/min) production.
Slab Continuous Casting:
Precise flow control is required under large cross-section and high casting speed to prevent crystallizer liquid level fluctuation.

- Precise matching of double-layer slides: the gap between the upper and lower slides is <0.1mm, and the steel liquid is prevented from leaking by hydraulic or spring pressure sealing.
- Linear adjustment of opening: the flow rate and opening are approximately linear, and fine-tuning is supported (accuracy ±0.5mm).
Automation control:
- Real-time feedback system: The opening is dynamically adjusted through the crystallizer liquid level sensor and the pulling speed signal, and the liquid level fluctuation is controlled within ±3mm.
- In slab continuous casting, slide control reduces the surface defect rate of the casting by 25%.
